How to Build a Business Plan Series The following small-group financial work sessions are offered year round, or you can meet with our Business Capital Resource Center (BCRC) advisor individually to go over your business plan and financials in more detail. Contact the Lane Business Development Center at 463-5255 or lccbizcenter@LaneBDC.com for more information. Part I: How to Write a Business Plan Learn how to write a business plan for a start-up or existing business. This class provides an overview of all the necessary components, as well as review successful, real-world business plan samples. Part II: Putting the Numbers Down on Paper Do you plan to expand your business, start a new one, or purchase an existing business? Will it generate sufficient cash to pay its debts and be profitable? In this hands-on session, learn to project a monthly profit and loss statement, convert it to a cash flow statement, build a balance sheet, and find out how they all flow together. Part III: Putting the Numbers in a Spreadsheet and Taking Your Plan to the Banker In this hands-on lab, learn how to use a computer to generate your profit/loss and cash flow statements and balance sheet. Find out how to approach a lender and what to say. Identify your strengths and weaknesses and potential issues with your loan package. |
