This class covers the A-to-Zs of owning and operating a small business over a ten week period. Going Into Business Series: Next Steps in Business This class covers the A-to-Z's of owning and operating a small business. Learn the business start-up fundamentals essential for a solid beginning. Topics include business structure, financials, marketing, record-keeping, planning, business resources, and more. Receive one-on-one business advising after completing the class. - Harley GIB, Step 1: Entrepreneurship - Is It Right for You? Rate your entrepreneurial drive and traits. Discover characteristics of successful business people, worst mistakes made by entrepreneurs, and the criteria for a successful business. Define your vision, mission and goals and begin a business plan. GIB, Step 2: Your Business Idea - Will It Work? Home-based businesses, the financial plan, organizing a business, start-up financial planning, professional image, and your business team. GIB, Step 3: Business Start-Up Essentials Estimating costs, financing your business, establishing a relationship with your banker, and setting up your books. GIB, Step 4: Critical Financial Information for Success Financial essentials for evaluating the growth and profitability of your business, income statement, balance sheet, capital budget, and cash flow. GIB, Step 5: Understanding Basic Financials Planning and Reporting More on financial planning and reporting, de-mystifying the numbers (a simple case study), and automated bookkeeping systems. GIB, Step 6: Finding the Best Customers Five Ps of marketing, marketing research, myths, styles, strategy, planning, customers, and analyzing and pricing your product. GIB, Step 7: Information Resources for Your Business Learn research techniques and research your business idea.
