Non-Profit Management Program

Programs

  • Satisfy the need to build a sustainable non-profit organization through better “best practices”.
  • Leaders will learn to better optimize their time, energy, and funds to the benefit of their business and community.
  • Group discussions provide a forum for members to share challenges, obstacles, opportunities, and successes.
  • Receive on-site consultation.
  • Learn how to work with, develop, or fine tune your team from the Board to the Volunteer.

Non-Profit Business Class
The Business class addresses non-profit business issues from fine tuning your structural foundation to planned growth. It has three modules each consisting of 24 hours of class instruction and 4 hours of consultation time. As each module builds on the one previous, we strongly encourage all three modules be taken. This class is designed for non-profit businesses which have been incorporated for a minimum of one year. The instructor is an experienced Non-Profit Board Chair, a teacher, and an expert in leadership.

Non-Profit Start-Up Class
The Start-up class has 24 hours of class time with 4 hours of consultation time addressing the development of a Non-Profit business from start-up. This class takes the place of Module 1 in the Non-Profit Business Class allowing the participants to move into the other 2 modules easily.

Consultation Time
Consultation time is offered to address situations that are unique to your non-profit business. Each non-profit business receives up to 12 hours of consultation time (4 hours per module ranging from leading retreats or strategic planning sessions to helping develop goals, holding the businesses accountable.

Expert Speakers
Get first hand, up-to-date information from leaders in the field of taxes, insurance, computer hardware and software, branding and marketing among other topics.

Enrollment
  • Non-Profit businesses enroll one member of their organization formally, usually the Executive Director. Board members, volunteers, Stewardship Council members, and other staff are encouraged to attend.
  • Up to 2 additional members of a organization can register and attend classes depending on space availability, allowing 3 persons per business at any given time.
  • All participants are required to commit to attend all classes, prepare for consultations sessions, and track improvements.
  • To maximize learning and sharing, no more than 20 businesses will be enrolled in any one class at a given time.

Non-Profit Business Counseling
Individual businesses can make an appointment with a Non-Profit Business counselor regarding a specific issue or concern or which class is right for your business. Sessions can run 1-2 hours. Call 463-5255 for an appointment.

Networking Sessions
You can join a group that meets regularly to get peer-to-peer support, ideas, and create partnerships.
